Description

The protagonists in the story "This Is Basic, Einstein" have embarked on a new quantum physics adventure. This time, they will conduct a reasoning investigation between cats, platypus, and physics!

The sultriness of the early afternoon has shut adults in their homes with the blinds down and in air-conditioned offices. Outside, on the streets, the city seems like a sort of Neverland: there are only kids around. They don't feel the heat. School has only been out for a week, and the idea of having an entire summer ahead of them is intoxicating to the point of making them dizzy. The ball games, the bike rides, the dives in the lake, the vacations. Three whole months. For an elementary school child, it's the equivalent of eternity: he might even try to imagine the end, but his thoughts would be lost in the effort before he even saw it.

Author

Riccardo Bosisio, after graduating in Physics at the University of Insubria in Como, perfected his studies at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris where he obtained a PhD in Theoretical Physics. Afterwards he carries out research activities at the NEST institute (National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology) and at the Normale of Pisa, before working in the private sector. For over ten years he has been collaborating with secondary and high schools on projects of popular science for children, with particular attention to issues of modern physics.

Tommaso Corti, graduated in Physics at the University of Insubria in Como and then PhD at the same university, with a thesis in quantum optics on the entanglement of twin photons. He currently works as a quantitative analyst in the financial sector. For some time he has been involved in the organization and promotion of initiatives of science popularization, especially aimed at children and young people.

Luca Galoppo, graduated in physical sciences at the State University of Milan. Father of two sons of 20 and 22 years old. Teacher of mathematics and physics at the scientific high school "Galileo Galilei" in Erba (CO). His great passions are, not necessarily in the right order: science, comics (he wrote comics for the publishing houses Bonelli and Disney), Milan and Dire Straits.

Matteo Tagliabue, teaches literature in a high school in Monza. He has collaborated on several projects as an editor and ghostwriter.

Anna Civello, passionate about drawing and art since ever, she graduated in history and art criticism. When she is not busy with weights in the gym, every minute of her free time (or almost) is dedicated to painting and illustration to the sound of metal music.
