Description

"Seasons in My Body" is not a book about menstruation itself, but a book about the menstrual cycle. This book explains to girls and teenage girls (and maybe even their parents) in a tongue-in-cheek (but with the right science) way what happens during their period. The author opens the door to the complex world of psychoneuroendocrine immunology in the way of female anatomy (which has never been done before in popular science) for readers who are about to begin their period, readers who have begun their period but do not yet understand it, and readers who have at least one female friend.

The author drew all the illustrations in the book himself, and it was the first book that the midwife illustrated the menstrual cycle.

Author

Claudia Sfetez, born in George Orwell's the distant southern Italy, is a midwife, but because she does not assist in childbirth, attracted many people questioned: “You’re not a midwife.” She answers: “I am the midwife.” She is passionate about women's health, menstruation and sexuality. As the daughter of a math teacher, she spent her free time in high school sketching, doodling and sometimes painting. Since 2015, she has been teaching the art of obstetrics at the SEAO primary school in Florence. In 2017, she published “Postpartum Recovery”.
