Foreword

Foreword

As a collector, I dabbled in relevant revolutionary documents in the Soviet Area for collecting Soviet stamps, and learned from the revolutionary feeling of the great man Chairman Mao Zedong and his comrades in arms devoted themselves to the great cause of revolution for the great ideal of communism, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the search for the truth of saving the country. These documents bear the glorious history of the Chinese Communist Party and the people's hundred years of heroic struggle, demonstrate the dauntless spirit of Chairman Mao and the Red Army and the great sentiment of blood and flesh between the Party and the people, are vivid textbooks for inheriting the red gene and traditional Chinese culture, and are precious wealth of the Party, the country and the people.

Inspired by the great contribution of Chairman Mao Zedong, I hereby present to the readers the collection and classification of relevant objects during the Chairman’s lifetime work in the Soviet Area. These objects include stamps, letters, notices, bulletins, and roadblocks, especially the poems and calligraphic works created by Chairman Mao in different periods. These objects are extremely precious. Due to the cruelty of the war, Chairman Mao's letters, manuscripts and authentic poems during the whole Soviet period were lost in the flames of war. It was very difficult to collect them. I spent my whole life collecting them one by one, sorting them out word by word, constantly studying and learning. I have repeatedly publicized the revolutionary theme through exhibitions and exchanged my experience with relevant experts. Now I include them into my book, If it can stimulate the patriotic enthusiasm of the Chinese people, stimulate the spirit of the Chinese nation, it will comfort my wishes in life.

The manuscripts in this book are articles previously published in various newspapers ,by authors, experts, bachelors or journalists. as well as the descriptions of many exhibitions of Soviet red stamps and the true works of Mao Zedong.

Preface
The manuscript of The Great Soul, a masterpiece with 600 pages, 500000 words and 800 illustrations, was placed heavily on my desk. Countless stories of the Chinese Soviet Area, which are inspired by dreams, are displayed in 600 pages of manuscripts. It can be seen between the lines that innumerable Red Army sufferings and glories have passed by. As Mencius said, you should know who he is when you read his poems and books. The seven years of the Chinese Soviet is a preview of the founding of a new national system in the centennial history of the Communist Party of China, a history of hard work. Anyone who keeps “warmth and respect to the Party” will regard it as a treasure. I know what the author writes will certainly be a good book.

Mr. Fu Chunxiao is neither a professional writer nor a scholar of party history, but he is indeed a collector who has sincere feelings for the Communist Party of China. He devoted his whole life to collecting, mining, researching and sorting out the red literature of the Chinese Soviet, and was particularly interested in collecting and studying the calligraphy, poetry, letters and manuscripts of Chairman Mao Zedong in Soviet period. Over the past 60 years, he has made remarkable achievements. It is admirable.

Although Fu Chunxiao has never studied in any famous university, he has been swimming in the sea of knowledge for 60 years without any rest days. He loves life, loves history, studies hard by himself, explores hard, and studies the immortal achievements of Mao Zedong’s calligraphy that he loves. At last, he got his due reward. He devoted himself to his research and achieved amazing
results, unparalleled in the world. His collection of Mao Zedong’s authentic calligraphy, Announcement of the headquarters and the Political Department of the Fourth Army of the Red Army, a banner with length of 2.83 meters and 410 words, is the only representative of the Chairman Mao’s poetry and calligraphy in his life. He never applied for any financial support from the government, but he expressed his willingness to dedicate his achievements to the country to fill the gap in the study of the party history, which is admirable.

I was transferred from Nanjing to Beijing in March 1955 to serve as the security guard of Chairman Mao Zedong. I was a security guard of Chairman Mao. I have worked with Chairman Mao for 20 years, and now I am over 90 years old. I deeply appreciate the great spirit of Chairman Mao who dedicated his life to the liberation of Chinese people. I cherish the opportunity to work beside Chairman Mao Zedong, and I know more about the deeds of Chairman Mao Zedong than most people. Although Chairman Mao wrote many works, many of his calligraphies, poems, letters, manuscripts and calligraphy from 1928 to 1934 were lost due to the war, which is a pity for him and for Chinese people. Fortunately, God bless China, Mr. Chunxiao, who is the one with the great responsibility from heaven, bravely shouldered this burden, and did his best to retrieve some manuscripts, keep them properly, devote himself to research, and made remarkable achievements.

As Wang Xuling, a great calligrapher in the Qing Dynasty, said in his evaluation of Yan Zhenqing’s Manuscripts for Tribute to Nephews: “The book of Master Lu has been written for thousands of years. Due to the loyalty, filial piety and friendship of Master Lu being enough to feel the world, the calligraphy being changeful, and the supernatural being holy, Manuscripts for Tribute to Nephews can count wars, keeping the paper in good condition, and looking bright. I think it should be protected by God. So it cannot be soaked in water or hot in fire. I am so amazed that I want to take a note why it can be passed on forever.”

Who can devote his whole life to collecting, sorting out, studying and publicizing Chairman Mao's Soviet era manuscripts, calligraphy and Soviet red literature, and consciously assume this responsibility despite the torture of poverty, hunger, disease, jealousy and theft? Just Fu Chunxiao!

Through the natural disasters and man-made disasters and the bullets in the past 90 years, even the flesh and blood will be gone, but the Chairman Mao's calligraphy is safe and sound, which is really clever. Mr. Chunxiao's painstaking efforts have been exhausted here and never wasted.

A road strip, a stamp, a notice, and an old brush in the period of the Soviet Republic of China have all confirmed the era of war in the Soviet area. A Red Army bulletin, a slogan to expand the Red Army, a simple folk song, and a Lenin story on a page of primary school textbooks have vividly expounded the spirit of the Soviet area.

In The Great Soul, there are also some authentic calligraphy works of Chairman Mao Zedong in the Soviet period, such as the world-famous Announcement of the headquarters and the Political Department of the Fourth Army of the Red Army, such as the Butterfly Loves the Flower • Xiangbancang, the Butterfly Loves the Flower • The First Year Festival, and Sacrificial wife, such as the Chairman's letters to Zhou Yisu and Mao Zeqin, such as the Mother Sacrifice Again, which recorded the solemn and stirring scene of the Red Army fighting in Jinggangshan, However, Chairman Mao was gone, but he has left a unique record that will benefit future generations.

Hong Kong’s Ta Kung Daily, Wen Wei Po daily, Hong Kong Post, Business Daily, Global Times, the Communist Party of China News Network, China Central Radio and Television Corporation, Jiangxi’s Party History Culture Garden, Guangzhou’s Yangcheng Evening News, the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China’s Republic of China's Artwork Authentication and the Great Wall Publishing House have successively released and published the Chairman Mao’s batch of separated calligraphy. Five years ago, when I visited the “Exhibition on the 124th Anniversary of Mao Zedong’s Birthday and the Stamps of Mao Zedong's Calligraphy in the Red Soviet Area” at the Guangzhou Workers’ Cultural Palace, I couldn’t help but shed tears and volunteered to act as a commentator in the exhibition hall due to the influence of the Chairman Mao’s poetry and cultural relics.

From 1928 to 1934, the Chairman Mao’s cursive script and some calligraphy treasures, ranging from mourning for Yang Kaihui and Huang Gonglue to Longyuankou’s victory and Xiajinggang, truly reflected the history of that period and the Chairman Mao’s revolutionary feelings. Chairman Mao once said, “I am an intellectual, a primary school teacher. I have never studied military. How can I know how to fight? It is because the Kuomintang engaged in white terror that killed all the labor union and peasant associations, killed a large number of 50000 Communists, and captured a large number of them. Only then did we pick up guns and fight guerrillas in the mountains.” Chairman Mao's going to Jinggang Mountain is a great measures that cause earth shaking, the beginning of the rise of the Chinese nation, and walked out a magnificent road to sunshine for the suffering Chinese people. The tension of reciting poems and writing poetry on the war horse competes through all ages and all over the world. The beauty of words is hidden in the painting of strokes. Each poem has created the immortal figure of the Chairman Mao who is loyal to the Communist Party.

In the calligraphy of Chairman Mao in Soviet period, running script infiltrated into cursive script, there was unrestrained and soul stirring. The calligraphy was proud of the universe, full of vitality and fluency. The Chairman Mao loves the people, soldiers, mothers, brothers and wives. His calligraphy is full of emotion, love and hatred, free and unrestrained. It fully reflects the vitality of the Red Army’s fighting and the burning power of friendship. Phoenix Nirvana, refined by human nature, presents to mankind with calligraphy the thought crystallization and great love gift of a great man's lifelong cultivation.

President Xi said, “In the long history, the Chinese nation has formed a great national spirit and excellent traditional culture. This is the cultural gene of the Chinese nation, which is always growing and thriving. It is also the spiritual force to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.”
