Author
Xiao Dingli
Member of the Chinese Writers' Association, has won dozens of awards, including the “Best Works Award” of the Central Propaganda Department, the Fifth National Book Award, the Fifth National Children's Book Award, the Sixth National Children's Book Award, the Bingxin Children's Literature Award, and the Bingxin Book Award. She has published more than a hundred literary works. Her representative works include the fairy tale “Dili and the Magic Rabbit”, “The Ugly Duckling”, “Hippopotamus as Nanny”, and the long series of novels “Master of Humor Little Bean”, “Master of Fantasy Little Bean”, and “Little Bean's Secret Diary”.
About the Illustrator
Wen Aining
Picture book creator and editor, graduated from the Children's Picture Book Department of Cambridge School of Art, UK, and the School of Fine Arts at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. She enjoys recording snippets of life with words and brushes, and also likes to explore the greater possibilities of music expression in children's picture books.
Starting her picture book creation in 2014, she has published the illustrated essay collection "To Cambridge for Illustration Studies," as well as picture books "The Forest of Music," "The Song of the Elves," "After Silence," "The Secret of Octaves," "The Cherry Tree," and "The Room Where I Saw the Swan." She has also translated the monograph "The Art of Children's Picture Book Creation: The Art of Visual Storytelling."
Her works have been selected for the final list of the 2021 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, and she has won the iJUNGLE International Illustration Award and the Spanish Apila International Picture Book Award. In 2021, she was selected for the Forbes China 30 Under 30 list.
