When someone close passes on, our world suddenly becomes empty, and nothing is the same as it was any longer. Little Bearnard is a warm story about the power of love and friendship, and about how even if someone has died they always leave something important behind – mementoes and happy memories to make us smile. Although the book touches on the difficult subject of saying goodbye to loved ones, there’s no shortage of the sparkling humour typical of Marta Guśniowska’s work, and the entire story is wonderfully enhanced by Ewa Poklewska-Koziełło’s cheerful, uplifting illustrations.
