Description

Since around 6000 BC, when primitive people first made rafts to cross rivers and migrate, to the invention of the wheel, human culture has been closely linked to the development of various modes of transportation. From easily transporting goods to freely moving to any place, human creativity and imagination have been infinitely developed through continuous innovation in vehicles. From rafts to horse-drawn carriages, to cars, steam locomotives, airplanes, and spacecraft, we now witness drones soaring in the sky, autonomous vehicles driving on the road, and maglev trains speeding along the tracks.

Furthermore, the world is accelerating the development of new types of vehicles that seem to exist only in science fiction movies, such as the Pop.Up Next, which can drive on roads and fly in the sky, as well as the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) system that can take off and land vertically in city centers and move at low altitudes, and the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) that improves transportation accessibility in remote areas, as well as the carbon-free high-speed vacuum tube train Hyperloop, etc.

This book helps children clearly grasp the past, present, and future of vehicles through a historical chart of vehicles. This book is very valuable as it thoroughly displays the various vehicles created by humans since primitive times. From the origin of vehicles to the future of vehicles, the book covers all modes of transportation that make human and goods movement more convenient.

Through this book, we hope that children can deeply understand the past, present, and future of vehicles and stimulate their imagination and creativity to think about the possible forms of next-generation vehicles that will lead the future.

The rich photo materials and information in the book aim to stimulate children's interest and curiosity. This book divides various vehicles into the fields of sky, land, sea, and space, and displays their respective development processes through rich photos and detailed information. The information is more in-depth and diverse than elementary school textbooks, which is enough to stimulate children's interest.

Book Features:
Firstly, each mode of transportation is marked with basic specifications, allowing readers to easily understand the individual basic characteristics such as speed, weight, and size of cars, airplanes, trains, spacecraft, etc. Secondly, each mode of transportation is accompanied by vivid photos to aid understanding, with over 680 visually impressive images that make the past, present, and future of vehicles clear at a glance. Finally, the book introduces future transportation technologies such as Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and the broader concept of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), along with the latest information, allowing readers to dream about how vehicles will develop in the future.

The book also includes a mobility history timeline and useful fun facts, allowing readers to understand the changes and development processes that cars, ships, airplanes and spacecraft, trains, etc., have undergone over time. Through the "Vehicle History Timeline" and the separately included "Vehicle Classification Table," all vehicles in the world are systematically organized by field. A "historical exploration" time is arranged separately for each mode of transportation to examine in detail the stories and important technological changes related to it, and "fun scientific knowledge" and "snippet knowledge" sections are set up, including the latest information, scientific information, and detailed information that children are curious about, such as car brands and emblems, SpaceX's Crew Dragon, the structure and principles of airplanes, etc.

Author

Institute of Transportation Research
The research team is highly concerned about the development of transportation with the development of human civilization, consisting of transportation experts from different fields such as sea, land and air. In recent years, attention has been paid to green, economical transportation, and the next generation of transportation that will be widely used in the future. The encyclopedia of transportation published this time includes transportation that makes our lives easier, transportation that is widely used from the invention to the present, and future transportation to the universe.
