Description
Gyeongwu starts working as a contract teacher at a new middle school in the city of Wonju, and he meets Hana, who lives in the same building as he does. When he finds out that she is the victim of domestic violence, he becomes worried about and preoccupied with her. Unable to endure her abusive husband, Hana leaves him to start a new life; however, her husband finds her, and she returns home.
That night, Gyeongwu hears the sound of an altercation in Hana’s place, and worried over Hana’s safety, he goes to her place only to find traces of blood with no one there. At that moment, Hana is behind the wheel of her car, completely out of her mind, with her husband, who has been hurt and is bleeding, with her in the car.
Some time later, Gyeongwu sees Hana again at court facing the charge of causing bodily harm with intent to kill her husband. Gyeongwu testifies on Hana’s behalf, and with his help, Hana is able to avoid jail time and receives probation.
Gyeongwu, who is soon to marry his fiancée, is not able to forget Hana, and their relationship takes everyone by storm. This book about the story of someone who hates and loves with destructive passion asks readers about the nature of salvation and the search for one’s own true self and independence.
