Bulgarian soccer player awarded with the Ballon d'or (the Golden Ball).
Stoichkov is best known as:
Top goal scorer in Europe in 1990, winning the European Golden Shoe.
Captain of the Bulgarian national team that finished fourth at the 1994
FIFA World cup in the USA. Being the top scorer of the championship, he won the World cup Golden shoe.
Winner of the Ballon d'or (Golden ball) in 1994

Vladimir Pamukov is a renowned Bulgarian sports journalist with over 30 years of experience in the field.
He has reported from six summer Olympic Games, seven World cups finals, six European Championships and over 250 internationals played by the Bulgarian national football team.
Over the course of his career, he has interviewed football giants including Maradona, Messi, Ronaldinho, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Romario and hundreds of Bulgarian and international sports stars.
Pamukov is the author and editor of numerous books about famous Bulgarian sportspeople like Stefka Kostadinova, Stoichkov (That's Me; Hristo Stoichkov. The story), Valentin Yordanov, Armen Nazaryan, Lubo Ganev.
In the 1990s he made a series of documentary films about Bulgaria's greatest sports figures.
