Review
Why does the mention of mathematics evoke feelings of fear, boredom, rigidity, and dullness? That's because the mathematics education we receive is like this. Children start learning mathematics from kindergarten, but the learning outcomes are not ideal. Most teachers and parents just make children memorize numbers and practice arithmetic without understanding its meaning, mechanically informing them of the solution methods. In this process, they neglect the most important qualities and talents for learning mathematics—curiosity and the joy of thinking.
I have been thinking: "Is there a simpler, more understandable, and more fun way to teach mathematics?" With this concept in mind, we gathered many child mathematics experts and, after a long period of research and study, planned the "Math Fairy Tales" series. We believe that this is a set of mathematics textbooks and picture books that are very suitable for children.
The book covers seven mathematical fields: classification, measurement, rules, shapes, space, numbers, and calculation, divided into five stages according to the different age stages of children and their physical, psychological, and thinking development. Creativity, logical ability, problem analysis, and resolution are the basics of mathematical thinking ability. We have put a lot of effort into creating this book to help children develop these abilities.
The "Math Fairy Tales" series consists of interesting mathematical fairy tale books, workbooks that allow children to learn independently and feel a sense of achievement, and fun mathematical game teaching aids. It is an integrated learning book that allows children to discover the beauty of mathematics and immerse themselves in the charm of mathematics.
I hope and look forward to this set of books opening the door to the world of mathematics for children, allowing them to become good friends with mathematics.

Mathematical Thinking Ability
Learning mathematics can cultivate the ability of mathematical thinking while the prerequisite for mastering mathematics is to have this ability at first. The so called mathematical thinking ability means correctly understanding a certain phenomenon and exploring its essence. It serves as the foundation for creativity, argumentation, and problem-solving not only in the study of mathematics but also in the learning process of historical and social phenomena.

Author
Professor Kim Young-woon is an emeritus professor from the Department of Mathematics at Hanyang University and the president of the Korean Society for the History of Mathematics. He has held various positions such as the chairman of the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Association, the director of the Korean Institute of Mathematical Culture, the dean of the Graduate School at Hanyang University, and the director of the Basic Science Research Institute at Hanyang University.
He has received numerous awards including the National Medal of the Pomegranate, the Korean Mathematical Society's Contribution Award, the Seoul Cultural Award, and the Korean BaekSang Publishing Cultural Award.
