Description
The book takes you through the Hall of the Five Hundred and learns about the unique cycle of frescoes that tell the history of Florence, the war against Pisa and the war against Siena. According to Vasari's definition, the tour will continue, with visits to the private rooms of the Medici family, Dei Terrestri, and to the upper rooms of the mythical "god". Then came the ducal apartments, including the church of Heleonola, with its exquisite frescoes painted by favorite court painter Bronzino, and other rooms, including the chancery -- which witnessed Machiavelli's arrival. The mezzanine, home to the American scholar and art collector Donazione Loeser, is marked by the 95-metre Arnolfo Tower, which towers over the city. The tower was also of high symbolic value, overlooking the towers of Florentine homes.
The book also includes an in-depth historical study of the study of Francesco Medici I and the lost works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo in the Hall of the Five Hundred Men.
Published in five languages: Italian, English, French, German and Spanish.
