Mathematics is also play and the exercise of curiosity. A collection of mathematical and logical problems engages and stimulates thinking beyond the boundaries of the discipline. Putting oneself at stake to solve them means experimenting with mathematical thinking. Each of the fifty problems has, at the end of the volume, the solution proposed by the authors. Curiosity will guide young readers (from 8 to 99 years old) to find their own solutions because in mathematics there is never only one way to tackle a problem.

Franco Lunardi, born in Piedmont from a Venetian family, "Sicilian for love", has a degree in history. He teaches science and technology subjects in an elementary school in Palermo and has a long experience in the organization of mathematical games and as animator and sports manager with the Italian Sports Center. He founded and is president of the Italian Academy for the Promotion of Mathematics that organizes the Mathematical Games of the Mediterranean.

Carmelita De Maria is a retired elementary school teacher. She was a trainer in the 1986 Multi-year Plan for the New Primary School Programs and an e-tutor in computer training. She still has a passion for mathematics and that is why she wanted a branch of the Italian Academy for the Promotion of Mathematics in Taviano (LE).

Giuseppa Maugeri, elementary school teacher, passionate about mathematics and logical thinking, has developed her professional career as a trainer on digital and teaching skills of teachers.

Pasqua Maria Serio, expert in teaching mathematics, has chosen not to practice as a chartered accountant to devote herself to her passion: teaching in Primary School. She has collaborated in university research groups and with the magazine "La Vita Scolastica", publishing articles on teaching mathematics.
