Description

One day, the advisor of the detective agency, Mr. Karl, brings a new commission: His uncle, Old Mr. Yue, has a Rosebud Villa in a distant suburb. Two years ago, Mrs. Yue died of a sudden illness, leaving some mysterious messages before dying, but no one can decipher it so far.

Mr. Karl leads the little detectives to the Rosebud Villa, where Mr. Yue shows the messages left by his wife: three cards with rhinoceros, Christmas tree and a circle drawn on them.

The family nurse acts as a model to restore the old lady's posture when she died. Allen Boe notices that the old lady's hand holding the card before she died is strange: Her fingers intentionally blocked the "Christmas", showing only the "Merry", and the circle is "round", so the combination of them is "merry-go-round—the carousel!

During Mr. Yue’s lifetime, she has collected a whole showcase of carousel music boxes, and the one she loves the most has been locked in a safe box by Mr. Yue. After seeing the precious music box Allen Boe notices that there are glue marks on the head of a white horse, which the old lady has dressed up as a unicorn, but the "horn" has fallen off.

It occurs to Li Sidi that the Western unicorn is modeled after the Indian rhinoceros! It seems that the three cards left behind by the old lady are hinting at the unicorn on the merry-go-round!

Based on the clues, the little detectives find that the manor's botanical maze is full of mysteries. Why did the old lady suddenly decide to change the maze pattern shortly before her death? Four "horses" and a "unicorn" are hidden in the maze pattern? What is the mystery of the pavilion pillar in the center of the maze? And what are the past and legacy hidden in the secret box under the floor tiles?
